The Canon YH16X7KRS is a high-quality 16x zoom lens designed for professional camcorders and cameras with 1/2" CCDs. This lens is marketed by JVC, but will work equally well with Panasonic cameras. It offers close focus down to about three feet and a wide angle-of-view of 49°.
